Crazy Love by Francis Chan, will be divided into five weeks. We will meet here Thursdays at 7 PM - 8 PM EST to share what inspired us, answers to the discussion questions, or even ask our own questions about what we have read. Beginning in March I'll begin a virtual meet up here at Life & Lumi every week as well, same time, so if you want to chat with your fellow club members virtually, we can do that.

This is the outline for February:

Week 1: Introduction and Chapter 1

* Discussion questions: What is your initial reaction to the book? What struck you most about Chan's perspective on love and relationships?

Week 2: Chapters 2-3

Well, folks, let's address the elephant in the room - perfect, I am not. In fact, I've been a bit of a slacker in my role as the commander-in-chief of our beloved book club. My consistency in reading and updating about our current book has been, shall we say, a tad off the mark. But in the spirit of honesty, I believe everything happens for a reason and that even my slack-off moments are part of God's grand plan.

Now, as we all know, February is the month of love (cue the heart-shaped balloons and chocolates). It's almost poetic how our Bible study theme for this month is 'what is love'. Considering my less-than-stellar performance in January, I’m beginning to think that it was all a divine set-up for what comes next. Our February book is none other than 'Crazy Love' by Francis Chan.

I mean, what better time to…

Bible Study Outline: What is Love

Introduction:

Welcome to our Bible study for the month of February, where we will explore the profound question: "What is Love?" Many people perceive love as a fleeting and passionate emotion, associated with people, memories, or things that bring us joy. However, the Bible presents a deeper understanding of love. It declares in 1 John 4:16 that "God is Love" and describes the attributes of love in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Love is patient, kind, not envious, boastful, arrogant, or rude, and always rejoices in truth. This suggests that love's essence isn't confined to temporary feelings but is eternal, like God. This month, we will deepen our understanding of these divine insights and apply them in our daily interactions with those around us, including our neighbors, children, spouses, and even those we see as adversaries. The Bible instructs us to "love one another as you…

A key thing to remember when studying the Bible is not to use Bible study, study apps and groups as just a checklist, but as a way to hear from God. It's here for you to assess your life, give God the glory, and make changes where necessary.
